@Gail it's definitely worth a pop - the duck is really good too, but that pork, mmm-mmm. What did you think of Mooli, i've yet to try it.

I went to its very near neighbour, Mooli for the first time the other evening (very good) and was so tempted to allow myself to fall in here! Will be taking your recommendations with me when I do go to Koya.

@Mr Noodles - I'm planning on a return trip as soon as I can get one sorted - i want to try out the tamago poached egg and some saucy (as opposed to brothy) noodles. Yum.

@Leluu - Thanks! I was reliving it as I wrote.

@Greed Diva - was there a pork udon without the miso? That made the broth just a wee bit too rich for the amount (still good though). I'll be sure to keep an eye out for the meh-prawn.

@Lizzie - the noodles are really really good. They could serve them with MPW's Knorr or oxo and I'd still enjoy them. However, mushroom and walnut sounds MUCH nicer.

@Tom - Thanks! Glad to hear i have that much influence over your appetite ;-) You really are in THE place to grab some noodles though. Very envious.

I LOVE Koya, those noodles are seriously addictive. The mushroom and walnut miso one is excellent, easily my favourite (so far).

I totally agree with all you've said here, including that the beef udon is the pick of the bunch (closely followed by the pork udon). I've only had one "meh" dish here - a daily special of hot noodles in hot (bland) broth with a solitary prawn. But otherwise, all good.
